Jacky Vu

Jacky is a Special Counsel in the Corporate Advisory Practice. 

With more than 20 years of experience, he brings deep expertise across the banking and finance sector, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, education, fintech and IT services (including SaaS, privacy, and cybersecurity), general insurance, labour and employment, international trade and commerce, franchising, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and hospital development, as well as foreign investment into Vietnam.

Jacky has practised with leading consultancy firms and internationally recognised law firms in Vietnam, including Thao Ly Consultants Co., Ltd., Vietnam International Law Firm (VILAF – Hong Duc), Baker & McKenzie (Vietnam), and TMI Associates. He later transitioned to senior in-house roles, serving as Regional Chief Legal & Compliance Officer for the Asia Markets (covering Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Vietnam) at Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, Head of Legal at Orient Commercial Bank (OCB), and Head of the Legal and Compliance Center at VPBank SMBC Finance Company Limited (FE Credit).

Beyond his legal career, Jacky has also gained substantial experience in strategic business management. He has acted as an angel investor and served on the Boards of Directors and Advisory Boards of several start-ups and large corporations—some of which he successfully exited with significant returns.
